Why We’re Investing in This Role

Great care delivered in a retirement village setting is playing an increasingly important role in helping older Australians maintain independence, connection and quality of life. Around a quarter of Five Good Friends’ members live within retirement villages, making this a significant and growing part of our business.

As our Village footprint continues to expand, we’re investing in a dedicated General Manager, Village Care, to lead the delivery, performance and growth of this important service line. Reporting to the Head of Care and Quality, this role is accountable for ensuring exceptional care outcomes across our Village partnerships while balancing operational excellence, commercial performance, compliance and partner satisfaction.

This is more than a care leadership role. It is an opportunity to shape the future of our Village Care model, driving continuous improvement, help strengthen partner relationships and building the systems, capabilities and ways of working that will support sustainable growth.

Working closely with our Village Partnerships team and broader leadership group, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering on our promise to members while creating long-term value for our partners and the business.

What You’ll Lead

Care Delivery & Operational Excellence

Lead the delivery of care services across our partner villages, ensuring Members receive timely, high-quality support that consistently meets the expectations of our members, their loved ones, and the Aged Care Quality Standards.

Commercial Performance

Drive sustainable financial outcomes through effective funding utilisation, service optimisation and operational efficiency while maintaining an unwavering focus on Member outcomes.

Leadership & Team Capability

Lead and develop a multi-layered team of care leaders, building capability, accountability and a culture focused on performance, quality and continuous improvement.

Partner Relationships & Growth

Partner closely with Village operators and our Partnerships Team to strengthen relationships, deliver on service commitments and support the growth of existing and future Village partnerships.

Technology Enablement & Innovation

Leverage technology, data and emerging AI-enabled tools to improve care delivery, operational performance, workforce effectiveness and the Member experience.

Model Optimisation & Scale

Help shape the future of Village care by identifying opportunities to improve consistency, scalability and operational excellence across local and remote delivery models.

What Success Looks Like

In your first 12 months, you will:

  • Improve time-to-first-successful match outcomes across Village partnerships.
  • Strengthen funding utilisation and commercial performance while maintaining excellent Member outcomes.
  • Enhance Member and partner satisfaction across key performance measures.
  • Build a high-performing leadership team with strong accountability, capability and engagement.
  • ·Review and evolve Village care delivery models to support high-quality care, operational excellence and sustainable growth.
  • Strengthen collaboration between Care, Partnerships, Clinical, Quality and Operational teams.
  • Support the successful onboarding and growth of new Village partnerships.
  • Establish yourself as a trusted leader and key contributor across the organisation.

The Leadership We’re Looking For

We’re looking for a leader who combines operational rigour, commercial acumen and a genuine passion for improving care outcomes.

You’ll likely bring:

  • Significant leadership experience within aged care, community care, healthcare or similarly complex service environments.
  • A proven track record leading multi-layered operational teams across large or distributed service delivery models.
  • Demonstrated success balancing quality outcomes with commercial performance.
  • Strong experience managing operational performance through metrics, data and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including experience building and maintaining strategic partnerships.
  • Experience leading change, improving service delivery models and supporting organisational growth.
  • Strong understanding of aged care funding models and sustainable service delivery.
  • Experience working across multi-site, hybrid or geographically dispersed operations.
  • Degree qualifications in Health Management, Business or a related discipline.

Experience working within Village environments, retirement living, partnership-based service models or scaling care operations will be highly regarded.
