 About the Role

As a Data & Analytics Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in building quality customer experiences through deep technical expertise, engineering skills, analytical problem-solving capability and solutioning. Reporting to the Head of Data & Analytics, you will deliver accurate, well-architected data solutions and insights that support customers throughout their loan lifecycles, spanning data pipeline engineering, business and product analytics, and customer lifecycle insights. You will take ownership of the quality, correctness, and maintainability of the analytical outputs and data products you own, and contribute to technical direction within the Data & Analytics team.

 

Some of the activities that you will perform include:

  • Collaborating with the Head of Data & Analytics and team members to define and deliver robust analytical and data pipeline solutions aligned to business and product priorities.
  • Designing accurate, compliant, stable, scalable, and cost-effective data products and reporting experiences.
  • Leading design discussions and introducing reusable patterns and practices that reduce complexity and improve long-term maintainability.
  • Contributing to the stability and reliability of production data systems and pipelines through effective incident response and preventative improvement.
  • Upholding strong data practices including validation, testing, and adherence to data governance and SDLC principles.
  • Maintaining and contributing to technical documentation including data dictionaries, architectural decision records (ADRs), runbooks, and onboarding guides.
  • Mentoring and supporting more junior team members and providing constructive, actionable peer reviews of analytical outputs and pipeline code.
  • Evaluating and responsibly leveraging emerging technologies, including AI-assisted analytical tools, to improve delivery and analytical practices.

 

Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience working in a data and analytics team environment, with 3+ years in a commercial agile environment.
  • Strong expertise and 3+ years using the Databricks platform to develop and implement medallion lakehouse solutions
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SQL, Python, and modern BI tools
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively and responsibly leverage AI-assisted analytical tools to enhance productivity, output quality, and problem-solving efficiency.
  • Hands-on experience designing and deploying data solutions on Azure or a similar cloud platform, utilising best practices for scalability, reliability, and data quality.
  • Hands-on experience with pipeline monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Azure Monitor) and data or API testing approaches.
  • Experience developing data pipelines integrating with third-party APIs or services across the customer and loan lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC principles and agile delivery methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and Continuous Delivery.
  • Bonus: Experience integrating AI or ML-powered capabilities into analytical or data products, applying Test Driven Development to data pipelines, or supporting regulatory or compliance-driven data environments.
