Service Electrician

Pay range: $48.00 – $57.50 per hour (subject to experience and skills) with annual increases as per our EBA.

We are seeking a motivated and safety-focused Service Electrician to join our team delivering maintenance services under a Defence contract. The role involves carrying out both preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance on a wide range of electrical infrastructure and equipment across Defence facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Service Electrician, you will be involved in a variety of electrical and mechanical projects, including but not limited to:

• Maintenance and installation of critical infrastructure such as Electrical installations, UPS systems, Generators, automated control systems, and High-Voltage (HV) systems.
• Troubleshooting and resolving issues in a timely and effective manner.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance in accordance with maintenance plans and Defence specifications.
• Identify defects and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure all maintenance records are completed accurately and submitted on time.

The Basic Requirements:

• A-Class Electrical License
• Current Driver’s License
• White Card
• Current CPR/LVR
• National Police Clearance
• DCSI Working with Children Check
• Defence Security Clearance
• Current High-Risk Licenses (EWP, SL, WP, Working at Heights highly regarded)
• Excellent troubleshooting skills, strong communication and attention to detail
• Exceptional customer service skills
• Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
• A strong safety focus
