The Venue
Set over three levels, the rejuvenation of the iconic Jacksons on George will be the new generation of pub and a flagship Sydney venue. The venue will deliver a consistently activated series of spaces, with unique offerings that evolve throughout the day and will provide a remarkable dining and drinking cultural journey. With menus, curated by Maurice Terzini & Steve Sinclair (Icebergs Dining Room & Bar) that will deliver contemporary Australian Pub classics in the ground floor Public Bar, snacks designed to
compliment drinks on the sun-drenched rooftop and a bistro menu inspired by the great urban bistros of Europe and Australia. A truly unique opportunity to learn about Australian produce and suppliers.
The Position
We are actively seeking skilled, full-time Late-night Chefs to become valuable members of our team at our highly anticipated new venue, Jacksons on George. We value hardworking individuals who share our passion for food and understand the importance of customer service. This is an opportunity for candidates to take up leadership positions, with possibilities for professional advancement as our venue evolves. Given that we operate the Jacksons ‘Late Night Bar’, four nights a week, we require candidates who demonstrate a willingness to work weekends and public holidays as an integral part of the role.
The Skills Required
● Suitable qualifications and at least two to three years post apprenticeship experience (reference checks will be conducted).
● Available to work late evenings and weekends between the hours of 6pm-3am
● Organise and set up their section as to maximise speed and productivity.
● Work under the supervision of Senior Chefs and carry out duties as per instruction.
● Ensure that all dishes are prepared consistently and according to standard recipes.
● Experience in training staff and apprentices.
● Monitor food and operating costs by purchasing products to kitchen’s daily requirements and reducing wastage.
● Efficient with a strong dedication to your craft.
● Adapt and troubleshoot in a fast-paced work environment and work as part of a team.
● Monitor equipment to ensure quality of production.
● Ensure compliance with food hygiene and health and safety standards.
● Day, evening and weekend work required.
● Hold a valid visa or working rights.
