As our business is growing, we are looking for an experienced QA/QC Coordinator to join our team.
Your new role:
You will be responsible for ensuring that all workshop and site work comply with internal quality standards, client specifications, and relevant codes. The role involves preparing and reviewing quality documentation, conducting inspections and audits, managing non-conformances, and supporting the overall QA/QC system across projects.
This is a permanent full-time role based in Adelaide.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and maintain QA/QC procedures, including Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), and quality checklists in accordance with project and client requirements. Maintain accurate and complete quality records, including test results, inspection reports, and NCRs.
Conduct and document inspections of materials, fabrication works, welding, and site installations to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and relevant standards. Identify and report non-conformances and assist in corrective/preventive actions.
Review technical documentation to ensure alignment with quality requirements before release for fabrication or installation.
Support audits and client inspections and ensure timely closeout of findings.
Compile, track, and maintain Manufacturer Data Reports (MDRs), ensuring all quality documentation such as test reports, material certificates, WPS/PQRs, and inspection records are complete and traceable.
Identify and report non-conformances (NCRs), assist in root cause analysis, and follow up on corrective and preventive actions until closure.
Liaise with workshop and site teams to communicate quality expectations and verify that quality processes are followed during fabrication and installation.
Coordinate and support internal and external audits, inspections, and quality reviews, including those led by clients or third-party inspectors.
Maintain structured records of QA/QC documentation, including saving and organising files (e.g., ITPs, MDRs, inspection photos, emails, and correspondence) in project-specific folders.
Collect, label, and archive photographic evidence, inspection records, and signed checklists in accordance with project filing protocols.
Monitor and file shipping documentation, such as packing lists, shipping manifests, and delivery dockets, to ensure traceability and alignment with inspection hold points.
Stay abreast of industry regulations and standards related to company operations.
Ensure that all activities adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, as well as internal policies.
Prepare audit schedules, issue audit requests, and assist with administration and close out of Corrective Action Requests / Defects / Non-Conformances.
Liaise with clients and/or external parties on quality-related matters.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate quality control measures into operational workflows.
Work closely with site teams to understand processes and identify areas for improvement.
Promote continuous improvement by identifying areas for enhancement in QA/QC procedures, field practices, and documentation workflows.
Monitor shipping documentation, packing lists, and delivery dockets to ensure traceability and compliance.
Prepare and issue quality-related communications and reports for project and operational teams.
Maintain and update records in QMS as required.
Skills, Competencies and Experience:
Relevant qualifications in Quality Management, Engineering, Construction, or related field.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in QA/QC roles in construction, civil, mining, or engineering industries.
Familiarity with ISO standards and other relevant quality management systems.
Strong report writing and documentation skills
High attention to detail and analytical ability
Strong understanding of testing methods and acceptance criteria
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant QA documentation system
Desirable:
Internal Auditor certification or formal training in Quality Management or related field (preferred).
Experience with quality assurance software and tools (preferred).
Experience with materials testing and lab coordination.
Experience in data management and digital QA tools.
