Specification Business Development Manager — Aluminium Cladding | Commercial Façade

Location: Melbourne-based | Geelong HQ | Full-time

Remuneration: Up to 180k package

The opportunity

PROBOND is an aluminium cladding supplier that distributes pre finished aluminium cladding panels for façade and construction.

We’re growing the division and need someone who knows how to win from the front. This is a specification-focused role: your job is to get PROBOND specified, and then follow those projects all the way to the order.

You’ll be based in Melbourne and operating across the Victorian commercial construction market, with regular time at our Geelong headquarters working closely with the broader CPH team.

You’ll be working with architects, façade designers, cladding contractors, and builders — across commercial and high-density projects where specification is earned, not stumbled into.

This is a newly created role with real scope. The foundations are in place — product, supplier relationships, and an established group behind you — but we’re looking for someone experienced enough to help shape how this division operates at its best. Your input on pipeline structure, process, and measurables will be valued and acted on.

 

What you’ll be doing

  • Targeting and winning specification from architects and designers at project inception
  • Delivering CPD presentations to architectural practices
  • Tracking live projects through Estimate One and BCI
  • Building and managing a structured commercial project pipeline
  • Converting specifications into confirmed orders through close collaboration with contractors and builders
  • Identifying and converting value-engineered cladding solutions — working across platforms to identify potential projects and contact architects, builders, and cladders and offering a value system
  • Maintaining disciplined CRM use — your pipeline is visible, current, and actionable at all times
  • Representing PROBOND at industry events and trade engagements

 

What we’re looking for

  • Proven specification sales experience, with strong existing relationships with architects and designers — background in cladding, façades, architectural metals, or a related building product is ideal but not essential
  • Experienced enough to hit the ground running and contribute beyond just executing — we want someone who brings structure, insight, and a point of view
  • Disciplined pipeline manager — structured, systematic, and rigorous about CRM use; you know your projects, their stages, and what action is needed next
  • A team player who thrives in a high-performance environment — we back each other, hold high standards, and expect the same from everyone in the group
  • Self-starter with real commercial drive — this is a role where you make your own momentum
  • Comfortable travelling to our Geelong HQ 2–3 days per week as part of the role
  • Familiarity with Estimate One or BCI is a strong advantage
