Your Role & Our Client
You will provide support to two female client with the following diagnoses:
- Schizophrenia
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
- Acquired Brain Injury (ABI)
- Stroke History
- Epilepsy
Your role will be to ensure her safety, dignity, and overall quality of life through personalized, high-level care. This is more than just a job; it’s about making a real, positive difference in the life of someone who needs you.
Key Responsibilities:
Non-Verbal Communication
- Understand and respond to subtle emotional and physical cues
- Document and track changes in behavior to ensure the best care
Behavioral & Emotional Regulation
- Implement trauma-informed care to de-escalate difficult situations
- Safely manage and respond to instances of aggression or self-harm
Health & Medication Support
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor their effectiveness
- Recognize signs of health deterioration and escalate as necessary
Mobility & Rehabilitation Support
- Assist with transfers, mobility aids, and personal hygiene needs
- Encourage and support rehabilitation activities to enhance independence
Daily Living Support
- Provide dignified personal care and encourage meaningful routines
- Foster engagement in activities that promote mental and emotional well-being
Is This You?
We’re looking for someone who embodies:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in Disability, Aged Care, or NDIS services
- A deep understanding of non-verbal communication techniques
- Proven expertise in crisis management and de-escalation
- A calm, compassionate demeanor, especially in challenging or high-stress situations
- Genuine care and patience in every client interaction
Essential Qualifications:
- Certificate III or IV in Disability Support (Highly preferred)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (current or willing to obtain)
- Employee Working with Children Check (NSW)
- National Police Clearance (valid within 12 months)
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificates
- Australian Driver’s License + your own reliable, insured vehicle
