We’re looking for an experienced, motivated and hands-on Branch Manager to lead one of our busy branches. 

At Compass, no two days are the same. One moment you’ll be supporting a customer following a vehicle accident or breakdown, the next you’ll be coaching your team, managing fleet utilization, solving operational challenges or planning ahead to ensure the branch continues to deliver an exceptional customer experience. 

You’ll be responsible for leading a high-performing team, driving operational performance and creating a positive workplace culture, while ensuring customers receive the outstanding service Compass is known for. 

Our branches operate 7:00am to 9:00pm, seven days a week. You’ll lead a team working across a rotating roster and ensure the branch is appropriately resourced to deliver a seamless operation throughout our extended trading hours.

What You’ll Be Doing 

As Branch Manager, you’ll have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation and performance of your branch.   

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing team. 
  • Creating a positive, accountable and customer-focused branch culture. 
  • Managing the day-to-day operation of the branch to ensure safe, efficient and professional service delivery. 
  • Supporting customers following a vehicle accident or breakdown, ensuring they receive an outstanding experience from first contact through to vehicle return. 
  • Managing branch performance across key operational and customer service KPIs. 
  • Coordinating fleet availability, utilisation and vehicle movements to meet customer demand. 
  • Planning staffing, workloads and resources to ensure smooth daily operations across extended trading hours. 
  • Supporting, mentoring and developing Branch Duty Supervisors, Customer Service Representatives and Drivers. 
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, referral partners and customers. 
  • Driving a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve customer outcomes, operational efficiency and team performance. 
  • Taking ownership of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) within the branch by promoting a strong safety culture, maintaining compliance and ensuring hazards, incidents and corrective actions are managed effectively. 
  • Maintaining high standards of compliance, vehicle presentation and branch housekeeping. 
  • Completing reporting, administration and branch documentation accurately and on time. 
  • Leading by example and stepping in wherever needed to support the team during busy periods. 

 

What You’ll Bring 

  • Previous experience leading or managing a team in a customer-focused operational environment. 
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate and develop others. 
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. 
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities. 
  • A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. 
  • Experience in automotive, fleet, logistics, transport, rental or a similar service-based industry is highly regarded. 
  • High levels of computer literacy and confidence using multiple systems. 
  • A current unrestricted Australian Driver Licence.
