Headquartered on the Gold Coast, we operate across the Australian East Coast, with offices throughout Southeast Queensland and Northern New South Wales. We partner with private, institutional and government clients to deliver civil, structural, water, traffic, dilapidation and environmental engineering and scientific services.

About The Role

We are seeking a Senior Water Engineer to lead the technical delivery of stormwater, flood and civil infrastructure projects for both public and private sector clients.

This is a hands-on leadership role based in our Brisbane office, with full ownership of projects from fee proposal through to certification. You will manage multiple projects concurrently, delegate effectively to junior staff, and take responsibility for all commercial and client-facing aspects of your portfolio.

The role is designed to operate with a high degree of autonomy, acting as the primary point of accountability for project delivery, quality and commercial performance within the water engineering discipline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of stormwater, flood and civil infrastructure projects, from concept and fee proposal through to detailed design, certification and construction support
  • Prepare fee proposals, tender submissions and invoices; manage all commercial aspects including scope, budget, programme and variations
  • Certify engineering outputs under RPEQ registration across a range of deliverables, including Stormwater Management Plans, Flood Reports, drainage design, hydraulic impact assessments and WSUD solutions
  • Provide technical oversight, including hydrologic and hydraulic modelling (e.g. TUFLOW, XP-SWMM, MUSIC), design reviews and approvals documentation
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects, balancing priorities, resourcing and deadlines
  • Delegate effectively to junior engineers, clearly defining scope, expectations and timelines while maintaining quality control
  • Mentor and support junior staff, contributing to their technical development and building overall team capability
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, sub-consultants, clients and approval authorities
  • Engage confidently with stakeholders, maintaining a professional and polished presence across meetings, presentations and written communication

Experience & Skills

  • 8+ years’ experience in Water, Civil or Environmental Engineering, with a strong project delivery focus
  • Proven experience delivering and certifying stormwater management plans, flood and hydraulic impact assessments, drainage design and land development or infrastructure projects
  • Strong technical capability in urban stormwater, floodplain management, erosion and sediment control, and WSUD
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen, including preparing fee proposals, tendering, invoicing and managing budgets and variations
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, councils, developers and internal stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects end-to-end, from scoping and pricing through to delivery, certification and close-out
  • Experience delegating to and supervising junior engineers, with a genuine interest in mentoring and team development
