About the Role:

The People & Workplace Culture (PWC) Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of human resource (HR) and PWC programs, policies, procedures, and initiatives at Biripi ACMC. Working collaboratively with the People and Workplace Culture Officers, they provide strategic guidance on all people-related matters and play a key role in creating a positive workplace culture that supports the mission, vision, and values of the organisation

The key objectives of the role include:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain People and Workplace culture policies, procedures and programs that align with the organisations mission, vision, values.
  • Manage the organisations Workers Compensation/Return to Work portfolio.
  • Navigate industrial relations, including interpreting Awards, engaging with unions and employee associations, and resolving issues in a collaborative way.
  • Lead or support complex workplace investigations, performance matters and case management, ensuring fairness, care for employees and affirming organisational standards.
  • Provide strategic guidance on all people-related matters including recruitment, retention, employee relations, and performance management, working collaboratively with the People and Workplace Culture Officers to ensure consistent and practical support across the organisation.
  • Coach, mentor and work alongside the People and Workplace Culture team members to build capacity, strengthen skills and experience, and support shared accountability for team outcomes.
  • Develop training programs for staff on PWC policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all employment laws, regulations, and industrial relations requirements.

Essential Criteria:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law, or Business and/or significant experience in HR generalist roles with exposure to industrial relations and union engagement.
  • Approximately five years of HR management and recruitment experience.
  • Return to Work Coordinator experience.
  • Sound knowledge of employment laws and Fair Work regulations.
  • Experience in a multifaceted Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation or with Indigenous Communities.
  • Experience developing and implementing HR/PWC Policies, procedures, and business processes.
  • High-level document/report/presentation creation and review.
  • Ability to hold all relevant security clearance including Police Check and Working with Children Check.
  • Current Valid Driver’s Licence.
