Summary:
The Utilities Operations for the Carpentaria Pilot Project (CPP) will support the transition from late construction phase and commissioning into safe, reliable operations of Beetaloo Energy’s Carpentaria Gas Plant and associated field facilities. The role will be in direct support for operational readiness, late-stage construction oversight, commissioning, and ultimately onsite support for day-to-day plant production E&I and Mechanical Technicians, along with well site operations and maintenance.
The position requires a level of Process operational knowledge in the oil and gas industry, along with an understanding of oil and gas safety system of work.
You will be required to uphold Beetaloo Energy systems, procedures, preventative maintenance schedules through a Computerised Maintenance Management System (“CMMS”), undertake breakdown and corrective maintenance, and supporting performance through commissioning, start-up, and ongoing steady state operations.
The position will be based on site at the Carpentaria Pilot Project which is located approximately 200km East from Daly Waters along the Carpentaria Highway on a 2 week Back-to-Back roster. with handover and travel to and from Darwin supported by the company.
Responsibilities:
- Help in the establishment and review of operations systems, SOPs, safety frameworks,
and maintenance programs during the pre-construction phase.
- Support late-stage construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up of the Carpentaria Gas Plant, associated wellsite and pipeline facilities.
- Supporting the Operations Leadership team to abide by the NT petroleum and WHS requirements, Beetaloo Energy’s Environmental Management Plan (EMP), Health Safety Environmental Management Systems (HSEMS), attending and being involved in safety meetings, Emergency Response drills, acting as permit holder or work party within the Permit to Work system, developing and reviewing isolation plans and apply Isolation procedures to practise.
- Participate in planned and unplanned maintenance activities and process upsets, including compliance checks, support minor E&I work under the guidance from the E&I technician, undertaking process plant operations under direction and well site operations as required
- In conjunction with the Operational management team, help and support the implementation of preventative maintenance systems, manage maintenance systems and asset integrity systems (within the CMMS), coordinate inspections, critical function inspections/tests and repairs
- Delivering daily production reporting, incident, and compliance reporting; liaising with the Operations Supervisor, meeting forecast and daily production nominations.
- Providing regular production status updates to the Operations Supervisor.
- Attend and be involved with prestart toolbox meetings, maintenance schedule meetings and safety meetings.
- Accommodation will be supplied onsite consistent with industry standard en-suite rooms, these will be shared on a back-to-back basis. Catering will be shared amongst the team on a rostered or preferred method; there will be allowances during work hours for preparation of meals and cleaning.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Upstream oil and gas operations experience.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, with the ability to understand, troubleshoot and support operation of gas plant equipment, rotating machinery, utilities systems and field infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience in daily gas plant operations, commissioning, and start-up activities.
- Good communication and computer skills.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance, asset integrity.
- Remote operations experience (FIFO/DIDO) with resilience and adaptability in challenging conditions.
- Highly motivated and resilient, with a practical, solutions-focused approach and the ability to work effectively within a strong team environment while delivering outcomes safely and efficiently.
- A level of mechanical aptitude.
- Proficiency with production monitoring systems, and CMMS software.
- Ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and contractors in a high performance, safety focused environment.
