Summary:
The Operations Supervisor of the Carpentaria Pilot Project (CPP) will support the transition from late construction phase and commissioning into safe, reliable operations of Beetaloo Energy’s Carpentaria Gas Plant and associated field facilities. The role will be in direct support for operational readiness, late-stage construction and pre-commissioning oversight, commissioning, and ultimately will provide onsite accountability for day-to-day plant production operations, well site operations and maintenance.
The position requires a hands-on operations leader, with a deep understanding of oil and gas process systems. Along with being capable to support the Operation Superintendent in building and leading a remote site team, personal performance monitoring and reporting, upholding systems, procedures, maintenance schedules, and supporting performance through commissioning, start-up, and ongoing steady state operations.
The position will be based on site at the Carpentaria Pilot Project which is located approximately 200km East from Daly Waters along the Carpentaria Highway on a 2-week Back-to-Back roster. with handover and travel to and from Darwin supported by the company.
Responsibilities:
- Help in the establishment and review of operations systems, SOPs, safety frameworks, and maintenance programs during the pre-construction phase.
- Support late-stage construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up of the Carpentaria Gas Plant and associated wellsite and pipeline facilities.
- Supporting the Operation Superintendent to enforce NT petroleum and WHS requirements, Beetaloo Energy’s Environmental Management Plan (EMP), Health Safety Environmental Management Systems (HSEMS) conducting safety meetings, drills, and issue permits to work and Isolation plans/procedures as the PIC Permit Authority.
- Assist with mentoring, and supervising the site operations team to ensure competency, readiness for ongoing production.
- In conjunction with the Project team, Operational management and Commissioning team, help manage the ramp-up and transition from commissioning to stable gas production.
- In conjunction with the Operational management team, help and support the implementation of preventative maintenance systems, manage maintenance systems and asset integrity systems, coordinate inspections, critical function inspections/tests and repairs, and ensure that all activities are completed to a high quality and to schedule.
- Delivering daily production reporting, incident, and compliance reporting; liaising with the Operations Superintendent.
- Meeting forecast and daily production nominations.
- Providing regular production status updates to the Operations Superintendent and at times, senior management.
- Leading prestart toolbox meetings, leading maintenance schedule meetings, supporting the Operation Superintendent and leading safety meetings.
- Acting as the onsite Person in Charge for the periods when the Operation Superintendent is off shift/site.
- Accommodation will be supplied onsite consistent with industry standard en-suite rooms, these will be shared on a back-to-back basis. Catering will be shared amongst the team on a rostered or preferred method; there will be allowances during work hours for preparation of meals and cleaning.

Experience and Knowledge
- Extensive (10+ years) upstream oil and gas operations experience with upstream natural gas compression production plant operations
- Hands-on experience in gas plant operations, commissioning, and start-up activities.
- Track record as Person in Charge or equivalent senior operational authority under petroleum/WHS frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance, asset integrity, and emergency response planning.
- Remote operations experience (FIFO/DIDO) with resilience and adaptability in challenging conditions.
- Have prior knowledge or ability to adapt to the NT petroleum regulations and regulatory reporting obligations.
- ·Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills under operational pressure.
- Proficiency with production monitoring systems, CMMS software, and reporting tools.
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and contractors in a high-performance, safety-focused environment.
