Description

Summary:

The Electrical E&I Operations Technicians for the Carpentaria Pilot Project (CPP) will support the transition from late construction phase and commissioning into ongoing safe, reliable operations of Beetaloo Energy’s Carpentaria Gas Plant and associated field facilities. The role will be in direct support for operational readiness, late-stage construction and pre-commissioning oversight, and ultimately will provide onsite accountability for day-to-day plant production operations, well site operations and electrical maintenance.

The position requires a high-level of Electrical and Instrumentation expertise in gas processing plants and gas compression packages, along with a good understanding of oil and gas process systems.

You will be required to uphold Beetaloo Energy systems, procedures, preventative maintenance schedules through a Computerised Maintenance Management System (“CMMS”), undertake breakdown and corrective maintenance, and supporting performance through commissioning, start-up, and ongoing steady state operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Aid in the establishment and review of operations systems, SOPs, safety frameworks, and CMMS maintenance programs during the pre-construction phase.
  • Will be required to show electrical leadership during commissioning, first gas and ongoing production within a small robust team.
  • Provide support and late-stage construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up of the Carpentaria Gas Plant, associated wellsite and pipeline facilities.
  • Supporting the Operations Leadership team to abide by the NT petroleum and WHS requirements, Beetaloo Energy’s Environmental Management Plan (EMP), Health Safety Environmental Management Systems (HSEMS), attending and being involved in safety meetings, Emergency Response drills, acting as permit holder or work party within the Permit to Work system, developing and reviewing isolation plans and apply Isolation procedures to practise.
  • Lead planned and unplanned electrical maintenance activities, including CFTs, compliance checks and hazardous area inspections, while supporting process plant operations, mechanical maintenance activities and well site operations as required.
  • In conjunction with the Project team, Operational management and Commissioning team, help manage the ramp-up and transition from commissioning to stable gas production.
  • In conjunction with the Operational management team, help and support the implementation of preventative maintenance systems, manage maintenance systems and asset integrity systems (within the CMMS), coordinate inspections, critical function inspections/tests and repairs. This will require a broadminded approach given we are a remote site with limited resources available, this will also compliment your experience within the electrical maintenance and process systems.
  • Maintain physical control and storage of E&I spare parts and consumables as well as critical spares on site in conjunction with Beetaloo Energy inventory management system.
  • Delivering daily production reports on E&I issues, statues of E&I equipment, procurement of spares, and compliance reporting, liaising with the Operations Supervisor, meeting forecast and daily production nominations.
  • Providing regular production status updates to the Operations Supervisor.
  • Attend and be involved with prestart toolbox meetings, maintenance schedule meetings and safety meetings.
  • Consistently upholding company values across all areas of the operation, while demonstrating strong emotional intelligence to help maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive workplace for our small operational team.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive (10+ years) upstream oil and gas Electrical E&I operations, experience with upstream natural gas compression production plant operations

  • Electrical License (NT or other Australian State/Territory or ability to get NT license)
  • Hands-on experience in daily gas plant operations, commissioning, and start-up activities.
