About Barang Regional Alliance Ltd:

Barang is a respected not-for-profit Aboriginal organisation dedicated to empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on Darkinjung Land. We strive to reform systems and processes to enhance service delivery outcomes and ensure accountability within the Central Coast Aboriginal community.

Program Overview:

The Connected Beginnings Program focuses on enhancing early childhood, maternal and child health, and family support services through integration and increased access. The program is designed to prepare Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children for future success by fostering collaboration among health and education providers and ensuring families have access to culturally appropriate services.

Position Summary:

As the Team Leader for the Connected Beginnings Program, you will oversee the effective delivery of services within key catchment areas, focusing on the Community Engagement & Linking roles. This role requires dynamic leadership to manage program deliverables, staff, and partnerships with service providers and community members. You will also be directly involved in client-facing activities and case coordination as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee milestone and grant deliverables, ensuring program goals are met.

• Manage and support staff, fostering an inclusive and effective team environment.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including ACCOs, local health partners, and Elders.

• Implement and monitor a metrics dashboard to evaluate and improve program impact.

• Actively engage in community-driven initiatives and support the integration of culturally relevant content in educational curriculums.

• Ensure compliance with all organisational policies and legal frameworks.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the early years sector, with a specific focus on Aboriginal communities.

• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams effectively.

• Strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and interpersonal skills.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of addressing diverse audiences.

• Proficiency in computer, social media, and IT skills.

• Current NSW Driver’s Licence, National Police Check, and Working with Children Check.

Desirable:

• Experience in stakeholder management or health education roles.

• Qualifications in stakeholder management, relations, health education, early childhood education, Social Work, Community Development, or a related field.
