Medical Receptionist – Specialist Plastic Surgeon

Location: Brisbane: Auchenflower|Milton | Full-time role

We’re growing – and we’re looking for a detail-driven, warm, and highly organised Medical Receptionist to grow with our friendly team. This role is ideal for an experienced medical receptionist who enjoys working in a specialist environment and delivering high-quality patient care.

We work side-by-side with specialist plastic surgeons and nurses to deliver care with empathy, integrity, and clinical excellence. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Creating a calm, welcoming, and reassuring experience for patients across all interactions, particularly over the phone
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication
  • Maintaining appointment schedules in line with the clinic booking template
  • Scheduling and coordinating patient appointments
  • Managing and maintaining patient records and files, ensuring documents are prepared and complete ahead of appointments or surgery
  • Accurate data entry with a high awareness of privacy and confidentiality
  • Assisting the team with preparation of patient and doctor correspondence
  • Processing consultation billing
  • Liaising with patients, medical practices and other healthcare providers as required eg GP clinics, dermatology clinic and anaesthetists rooms
  • Supporting general administrative duties such as ordering supplies
  • Maintaining a welcoming and well presented reception lounge
  • Supporting the day-to-day operations of the clinic by undertaking additional duties as directed by the Practice Manager
  • Going above and beyond to deliver an exceptional patient experience

Who You Are

  • 2–3+ years of experience in a general or specialist surgical or private healthcare setting
  • Warm, confident, and professional communication style—both over the phone and in person, with a natural ability to build rapport and put patients at ease
  • Exceptionally organised and detail-oriented
  • Tech-savvy—comfortable using electronic medical records (Xestro ideally) and the Google Workspace platform
  • Professional, calm, and adaptable under pressure
  • Proactive, collaborative and solution-focused team player
  • You maintain a polished, professional appearance
  • Committed to creating an exceptional patient experience
