About the Role
We are seeking experienced Disability Support Workers and Enrolled Nurses (ENs) to join our growing team, supporting participants with spinal cord injuries, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), acquired brain injuries (ABI), and other complex support needs.
This role is ideal for individuals with experience delivering high-intensity supports who are confident working both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver person-centred supports in participants’ homes and the community.
- Provide high-intensity personal care.
- Assist with manual handling and hoist transfers.
- Support participants with spinal cord injuries, ASD, ABI, and other complex disabilities.
- Assist with medication administration in accordance with organisational policies.
- Support mealtime management and safe eating practices.
- Monitor participants’ health, wellbeing, and safety.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes.
- Work collaboratively with families, nurses, allied health professionals, and support coordinators.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in disability support, aged care, or complex healthcare.
- Experience supporting participants with high-intensity support needs.
- Confident with manual handling and hoist transfers.
- Medication competency (or willingness to obtain).
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
- Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check).
- Current First Aid & CPR.
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence and reliable, insured vehicle.
- Ability to work within both 1:1 and 2:1 support models.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Highly Desirable
- Experience supporting people with spinal cord injuries.
- Experience supporting participants with ASD or ABI.
- High Intensity Support Skills (NDIS).
- Experience using electronic care management systems (e.g. ShiftCare).
