Role Type

Description

We’re looking for a Collections Team Leader to guide, support and inspire a team of collections agents. You’ll play a key role in keeping our collections function running smoothly, making sure overdue accounts are recovered in a fair, efficient and customer-focused way.

This is a role where no two days are the same — one moment you’ll be coaching an agent on their call approach, the next you’ll be jumping in to resolve a complex customer issue or looking at performance data to spot trends and opportunities.

Altogether is a sustainable multi-utility providing drinking water, recycled water and wastewater services, embedded energy networks and hot water systems to communities including greenfield and urban infill communities.

Altogether is providing utility services to over 400 communities and ultimately 100,000 customers by 2025.

Our people drive our mission of creating next-generation utilities that enable self-sufficient community by exceeding the expectations of our customers through sustainable innovation, leadership and smart-thinking.

A bit about what you’ll do:

  • Lead, mentor and develop your team so they can hit their targets and grow their skills.
  • Manage daily operations like scheduling, workload and leave to keep things on track.
  • Support the team with escalated calls, disputes and high-value cases.
  • Keep a close eye on performance — recovery rates, call quality, dispute resolution — and share insights with the business.
  • Make sure everything we do complies with regulations, hardship policies and our own high standards.
  • Look for smarter, more efficient ways of working and support new systems or processes.
  • Work closely with other teams like billing, customer service and legal to get the best outcomes for our customers.

What we’re looking for:

  • Solid experience in collections or credit control (utilities experience would be a bonus).
  • Previous leadership or team supervisory experience.
  • A good understanding of regulations and hardship policies.
  • Strong people skills — communication, conflict resolution and negotiation.
  • Confidence with data and reporting tools.
  • Someone who brings integrity, professionalism and a customer-first mindset.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams).

Why you’ll love it here:

At Altogether, we believe in doing things differently. You won’t just be managing a team — you’ll be making a real difference to customers, helping people through challenges while driving great outcomes for the business. We’ll back you with the support, tools and flexibility you need to do your best work.

What we will provide

  • A collaborative, positive team
  • Growing organisation within the water and embedded energy industry
  • Additional paid leave e.g., vaccination leave, primary and secondary carer’s leave
  • Purchase additional Annual leave & Salary Sacrificing options.
  • Family & Wellbeing initiatives e.g., Access EAP program, additional wellbeing day off
  • State of the art offices
  • Work anniversary prizes, monthly birthday celebrations, and snacks in the kitchen!
