Description

Alliance Distribution Services (ADS) is a leading book distribution company in Australia & New Zealand, providing comprehensive distribution services, and exceptional customer service to our client publishers and their bookselling customers. ADS is fully owned and operated by Hachette Australia.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated IT Support Officer to join our IT Team on a full-time fixed-term contract /1 year/, based at our Tuggerah office. IT Support Officer will support both office and warehouse operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day system performance. You will be the first point of contact for IT issues, working across platforms like Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and warehouse systems. About the role:

Hachette and Alliance Distribution Services (ADS) are looking for a proactive IT Support Officer to deliver day-to-day technical support across office and warehouse environments. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on troubleshooting, supporting business-critical systems, and working closely with users to keep operations running smoothly.

Key stakeholder: ADS and Hachette staff, 3PL partners and IT Suppliers

Responsibilities:

  • Provide general IT support across all platforms and systems.
  • Application administration and support, including HighJump/ Blue Yonder [Warehouse Management System], Vista/ SAP [ERP] and any other ADS or Hachette platforms.
  • Effectively manage, prioritize and escalate helpdesk tickets to enhance operational effectiveness and reduce backlog.
  • Help support infrastructure, including network switching, firewalls, and VMWare.
  • Assist in Upgrades and patch management.
  • Ensuring good backups are available for servers and Vista ERP system.
  • Ensuring IT policies and procedures are applied and used within the role.
  • Interact and collaborate with IT service providers to support Hachette and ADS.
  • Be available to assist and collaborate with staff and members of the IT Department to support Hachette and ADS.
  • Ensure that systems critical to the day-to-day operations are monitored and serviced to maintain operational dependability.

We’re looking for someone who has or/and is:

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, networking, and end-user device support, along with strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Be able to prioritize and manage helpdesk tickets effectively while maintaining high service standards.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical issues into simple terms for users.
  • Be adaptable, dependable, and comfortable working both independently and within a small, collaborative team.
  • Have a good understanding of IT security, system monitoring, and a willingness to continuously learn and improve will be key to succeeding in this role.
