Summary:

As a Disability Support Worker in Rozelle, New South Wales, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. This permanent, full-time position offers an opportunity to provide compassionate care and support, ensuring that clients can lead fulfilling lives within their community. Your contributions will be essential in promoting independence and dignity for those you assist.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and support to individuals with disabilities, including assistance with daily living activities.
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with clients and their families.
  • Support clients in accessing community resources and services to enhance their social inclusion.
  • Monitor and document clients’ progress and any changes in their condition, reporting to relevant healthcare professionals.
  • Encourage and assist clients in participating in recreational and social activities.
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Attend training and professional development sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in disability support.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent qualification in disability support.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and their families.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating empathy and patience.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting purposes.
  • A valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle may be required.
