The Role

Lead one of Sydney’s newest and most exciting community sport and recreation destinations.

Sydney Sports Management Group (SSMG), in partnership with Lane Cove Council, is seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead the operations of the Galuwa Recreation Centre & Golf Course.

This is a unique opportunity to oversee a new, $82million state-of-the-art community facility, featuring indoor and outdoor multi-sport courts, multipurpose rooms, a bistro, golf facilities, and vibrant community programs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead all aspects of Centre operations, including financial performance, staff leadership, marketing, customer service, and risk management.

2. Ensure service excellence, safety, and compliance with contractual requirements.

3. Drive participation, program growth, and community engagement.

4. Effectively promote programs and services to all sectors of the community 4. including the provision of school holiday coaching programs.

5. Build partnerships with schools, clubs, and community organisations.

6. Research and review services and programming to ensure continuous 6. improvement and relevance.

7. Apply industry best practice and a high level of professional and business 7. acumen to all aspects of the services to achieve the best value outcomes for the 7. community.

What we are looking for:

• 10+ years’ management experience in sport, recreation, or hospitality.

• Strong financial, operational, and people leadership skills.

• A proven ability to deliver outstanding customer service and community outcomes.

• Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.

• Flexibility to work across mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
