Why work for Mobility Centre:

  • Keep life in balance – Part time hours to work in with you.
  • Be part of New Zealand’s largest mobility equipment retailer, based in our welcoming central Lower Hutt store.
  • Grow with us – learn not only retail operations, but also fulfilling online sales (www.mobilitycentre.co.nz).

About the role:

We are looking for a solution‑focused Online Mobility Consultant to support our online customers and help deliver a positive, accurate, and efficient purchasing experience. This role combines customer service, online sales support, and logistics. You’ll help customers choose the right mobility products, process and fulfil online orders, package and dispatch equipment, and ensure our online store information remains accurate and up to date.

The role includes practical, hands‑on work such as preparing orders for dispatch, handling stock, and assembling equipment where required. You will also work closely with internal teams, including Communications, to ensure product listings, pricing, and availability are current and reflect in‑store information.

You’ll be part of a supportive and values‑led team that takes pride in making a real difference in people’s lives. This is not a traditional retail role – it’s a mix of customer service, online sales, logistics, and community connection, all grounded in enabling people to live the lives they choose.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with online customers to understand their needs to provide appropriate mobility equipment and information using a solutions‑based sales approach.
  • Ensure a positive, respectful, and responsive customer experience from enquiry through to order fulfilment.
  • Process online sales, payments, and orders accurately and efficiently, including packaging and dispatch.
  • Maintain accurate stock levels and follow all retail and financial procedures.
  • Ensure online product listings are current and reflect correct pricing, descriptions, and availability.
  • Provide customers with guidance on selecting, safely using, and maintaining their equipment.
  • Build relationships and identify sales opportunities within the community.
  • Stay informed about mobility products, best practice, and emerging trends in the sector.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales activity.

What you’ll bring:

  • Previous experience in customer service or retail, with an understanding of solution‑based selling.
  • Confidence working independently at times, while also contributing to a wider team.
  • Practical capability to package orders, handle stock, and assemble equipment when required.
  • Confidence using point‑of‑sale systems, online platforms, and digital tools.
  • Strong empathy and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with customers.
  • A proactive approach to follow‑up and customer care.
  • Knowledge of the health or disability sector is an advantage, but not essential.
  • Openness to learning, training, and ongoing professional development.
