Description

Mobility Consultant – Papamoa

Part time – 13.5 hours per week with the flexibility to work additional hours

Monday – Wednesday 12pm to 3.30pm and Friday 10am-1pm.

Fixed Term contract – 12 months

Mobility Centre’s Papamoa store is seeking a solution finding salesperson to join their team and help customer find the equipment to meet their needs.  The role will be responsible for working with customers to find solutions to their needs, re-stocking the store, managing rental equipment, and following up with customers and suppliers.

Occasionally you may also be required to present products to small groups so will need the confidence to be able to do so.

You will be part of a very supportive team of four that enjoy the reward of the difference they make in people’s lives. This is not an ordinary retail job and it’s important that we get the right person to join our team.  

Mobility Centre is part of Your Way | Kia Roha, and has stores in Hamilton, Wellington, Hastings, and Papamoa. This is supported by the Wellington based online store and a van-based sales service based out of Tauranga and Auckland. Mobility Centre provides a wide range of mobility related products to buy or hire to people in our community. Primarily the customers are people that are aged and/or with a disability, illness or injury. 

As Mobility Consultant – Papamoa for Your Way | Kia Roha the successful applicant will: 

  • Have experience working within a retail setting and helping to guide customers to a solution to their needs.  
  • Confidence to be able to present to small groups.
  • Comfortable and capable with the physical side of the job, including lifting and moving boxes, delivering products to customers, and driving the store van
  • Adept with using point of sale computer technology and undertaking internet searching.  
  • Recognise the importance of empathising with customers and understanding their needs.  
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to follow-up on a timely basis as required.  
  • Knowledge and/or background in the health and disability sector would be advantageous.  
  • Be open to training and development opportunities.

We have been providing support to people and their whanau for over 40 years.

 

What you’ll bring:

  • Previous experience in customer service or retail, with an understanding of solution‑based selling.
  • Confidence working independently at times, while also contributing to a wider team.
  • Practical capability to package orders, handle stock, and assemble equipment when required.
  • Confidence using point‑of‑sale systems, online platforms, and digital tools.
  • Strong empathy and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with customers.
  • A proactive approach to follow‑up and customer care.
  • Knowledge of the health or disability sector is an advantage, but not essential.
  • Openness to learning, training, and ongoing professional development.
