Woodford House is a leading New Zealand boarding and day school for girls, set in the heart of Hawke’s Bay. With a strong commitment to excellence, creativity and opportunity, we are seeking an outstanding Arts Coordinator to support and enhance our vibrant Performing Arts Faculty.
The Role
Reporting to the Director of Performing Arts, the Arts Coordinator plays a pivotal role in enabling a rich and dynamic arts culture within the School. This position provides high-level administrative and organisational support across the Performing Arts, Design and Creative Technologies faculties, while ensuring the seamless coordination of events, student opportunities and programmes.
This is a varied and hands-on role, suited to someone who enjoys working in a busy school environment and thrives on bringing people and events together.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support a comprehensive annual Arts calendar, including performances, competitions, exhibitions and major school productions
- Provide administrative and logistical support for trips, events and co-curricular opportunities, including EOTC processes, which will require evening and weekend support from time to time
- Liaise with students, staff, families and external providers to ensure effective communication and organisation
- Support the coordination of prestigious school events such as House Music, House Drama, Arts Showcase, Arts Awards and the biennial production
- Assist with the Artist in Residence Programme and wider arts initiatives
- Maintain and coordinate individual Performing Arts student schedules
- Contribute to continuous improvement of systems and processes, including digital tools and workflows
- Provide general administrative support, including database management, communications and resource coordination
About You
The successful candidate will bring:
- Outstanding organisational and administrative skills with a drive for continuous improvement
- Excellent communication and relationship-building ability
- Proven experience in a coordination or administrative role
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused approach
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Confidence using digital systems, including Microsoft Office (experience with school systems is an advantage)
- A genuine enthusiasm for the Arts and supporting student opportunity
