Description

Summary:

The Plant & Tools Controller plays a crucial role in the building and construction industry by overseeing the management and maintenance of plant and tools within our operations in Levin, Manawatu. This permanent, full-time position is essential for ensuring that all equipment is efficiently utilised and maintained, contributing to the overall productivity and safety of our projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised yard
  • Issuing, tracking, and receiving tools and equipment to and from site
  • Managing stock levels and conducting regular inventory checks
  • Coordinating with the team to ensure materials and equipment are where they need to be
  • Running local deliveries and pickups using a company vehicle
  • Assisting with loading and unloading of materials
  • Identifying damaged or missing items and reporting accordingly

Skills:

  • Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, or construction environment (preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
  • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all conditions
  • A current, clean driver’s licence (Class 1 minimum; forklift licence a bonus)
  • Good communication skills and a team-first attitude
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative
