Veterinary Nurse

Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Nurse to join our team in Wanganui. This permanent, full-time position plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality animal care, supporting veterinarians during clinical procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of our veterinary practice. The ideal candidate will have a passion for ensuring the health and well-being of our animal patients and a commitment to delivering exceptional service to our clients.

Responsibilities:

• Full-time role with rostered Saturdays
• Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
• Administer medications and vaccinations as directed.
• Monitor the health and behaviour of animals in our care.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Provide client education on animal care and health issues.
• Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the clinic and equipment.
• Support the management of inventory and supplies.
• Be able to work in both a nursing or reception role.

Qualifications:

• Qualified Diploma Veterinary Nurse with relevant certification.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a veterinary practice.
• Strong knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, and behaviour.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
• Compassionate and patient-focused approach to animal care.
