Merchandiser (Part Time)

Walter Findlay Ltd is a family-owned company who has been baking bread in Gisborne for over 100 years as well as making food coatings domestically in NZ and internationally for over 20 years. We bake and deliver bread along with a variety of other food products from Hicks Bay to Wairoa.

We are looking for a reliable and physically capable part-time Merchandiser to represent our locally baked bread in the Gisborne supermarkets. Join a company that prides itself on providing fresh, quality products to the local community.

The role includes packing orders according to paperwork, merchandising to ensure our store shelves stay fully stocked throughout the day. You’ll be processing returns as well as completing daily documentation while actively maintaining Food Safety and hygiene standards. Customer service skills are a must to ensure our customers continue to be delighted by our products and service.

You will need to have the following:

• Merchandising experience (preferred)
• Be reliable and punctual  
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• A valid NZ driver’s licence with reliable transport to go between the bakery, Pak n Save and Woolworths supermarkets
• A positive attitude
• Flexibility and willingness to provide cover for the team when needed
• The ability to work independently and be a good team member
• Commitment to good manufacturing practices and health and safety
• Be physically fit and able to lift and move bread and milk crates – it is a physically demanding role
• Eligible to work in New Zealand

Hours of work will be Sunday 6.00am – 1.30pm and Monday 5.00am – 1.30pm plus additional cover for planned and unplanned leave. You will be paid travel time and receive a phone allowance.
