Description

Summary:

The Purchasing Administrator plays a crucial role by Supporting the Supply Chain Manager and acts as the vital link between suppliers, warehouse and production. This role provides accurate purchase order management, efficient supplier communication, and effective follow-through to maintain stock availability, cost control, and operational continuity. Based in Richmond, Tasman, on a full-time 12 Month fixed term position.

Responsibilities:

Purchase Orders: Raise, track, and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery against production and operational requirements. Supplier Coordination: Liaise with suppliers on pricing, lead times, and order confirmations, resolving discrepancies as they arise. Follow-ups: Actively track and follow up on outstanding orders, backorders, and key delivery deadlines. Stock Management: Monitor stock levels and reorder points, coordinating with production and supply chain to avoid shortages or overstocking. Reporting: Prepare regular purchasing reports for the Supply Chain Manager and act as the central link between suppliers, production, and operations teams. Support: Provide administrative support to the Supply Chain Manager, acting as the go-to resource for purchasing matters. Communication: Act as a key liaison between internal teams and external suppliers, ensuring clear and consistent communication.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in administration, purchasing, or procurement.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of business systems, including Microsoft Office Suite, purchasing/ERP systems, SmartSheets, Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) and supply chain software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • An understanding of purchasing, supply chain, and production processes is imperative
