Location: Hamilton East

Days/Hours of work: Tuesday to Saturday, 9 am to 4 pm 35 hours per week

Remuneration: Approx. $55,000 salary plus bonuses

We are looking for a strong, capable Store Manager to take full ownership of our OPP Stop, the Waikato Women’s Refuge opportunity shop in Hamilton East.

This is not a standard retail role. This is a leadership position with real accountability.

You will be responsible for the overall performance of the store, including achieving revenue targets, building and managing a diverse volunteer team, overseeing stock flow, and creating a retail environment that is engaging, well presented, and commercially effective.

This role requires someone who can step in, take control, and lift performance.

What you will be responsible for

· Delivering weekly revenue targets and driving sales growth

· Leading, and retaining a strong volunteer team

· Managing stock intake, pricing, merchandising, and rotation

· Creating visual displays that reflect a high standard of retail presentation

· Building a positive, productive store culture

· Bringing structure, consistency, and accountability to the space

What we are looking for

· Proven retail leadership experience

· Confidence managing people and setting clear expectations

· Strong commercial awareness with a focus on results

· Ability to work with and motivate volunteers from diverse backgrounds

· A hands-on, practical approach

· Someone who can identify what is not working and fix it

This is our only opportunity shop, and it plays an important role in supporting the wider work of the Refuge. We are looking for someone who understands the responsibility that comes with that and is ready to take ownership of the outcome.

If you are someone who can lead from the front, build a capable team, and turn a retail space into a strong-performing store, we would like to hear from you.

Apply with your CV and a short cover note outlining why you are the right person for this role.
