Description

Service Technician – Waikato Pump Services Ltd

Keep the Waikato flowing. Build a career with a trusted, family‑owned business.

Waikato Pump Services Ltd is a locally owned, family‑operated company established in 1986. We supply equipment, servicing, and practical solutions across rural, domestic, commercial, and industrial sectors. From water, sewage, and effluent pumping to filtration systems of every size — under‑sink filters, pools and spas, right through to whole‑farm and commercial applications — we keep essential systems running smoothly.

About the Role

We’re looking for a motivated Service Technician who enjoys hands‑on work, variety, and solving real‑world problems. You’ll split your time between the field and the workshop, working with great people and building skills you’ll use for life.

What you’ll be doing

  • Installing and servicing farm pumps, filtration systems, and domestic equipment
  • Handling breakdown repairs and maintenance for a wide range of clients
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs both on-site and in our workshop
  • Keeping job cards accurate and up to date using our digital tools
  • Working alongside a supportive team delivering top-quality service across the Waikato
  • Taking part in our on-call rotation to keep essential systems running for customers

What We’re Looking For

  • A hands-on trade background — fitting, pumps, diesel mechanics, electrical, or similar
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Confident communication and customer service
  • Physically fit and comfortable with some labour-intensive work
  • Keen to learn and take on a wide variety of tasks
  • Full NZ driver’s licence
  • Pump and filtration experience is a bonus — but we’re happy to train the right person

Why Join Us?

  • A genuinely varied role — workshop, on-site, and out on the road
  • Supportive team culture with plenty of laughs
  • Ongoing training and skill development
  • The satisfaction of seeing the impact of your work
  • Long-term job security with a respected NZ business

Competitive pay and benefits, including:

  • Company vehicle
  • Mobile phone
  • Tool allowance
  • Access to discounted rates from our many suppliers
