Spa World, part of the global Jacuzzi Brands network, is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our team in Nelson on a part-time, fixed-term basis.
This role is approximately 20 hours per week (half-day arrangement) and offers flexibility for the right person.

About the Role
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting month-end and year-end processes, managing tax compliance requirements, and contributing to continuous improvement across our finance function.
You will play an important part in helping the business maintain strong financial discipline, meet compliance obligations, and support informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes
- Oversee general ledger reconciliations and journal entries
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Prepare and manage GST and income tax requirements, including returns and reconciliations
- Support tax compliance and work with external advisors where required
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Support audit processes and liaise with external auditors
- Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and reporting systems
Skills and Experience Required:
- CA qualified, or equivalent relevant financial accounting experience
- Demonstrated experience with tax compliance, including GST and income tax
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- High attention to detail and strong analytical capability
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively in a part-time role
- Experience using accounting software and strong Excel skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive, professional, and collaborative approach
