Pay Rate

$27 NZD – $30 NZD (Hour)

Description

Vets North is an owner-operated, independently minded four-clinic group serving communities across Auckland’s upper northwest — Silverdale, Kumeu, Waimauku and Helensville. We’re a close-knit team who genuinely care about the animals we treat and each other.

We’re looking for a vet nurse to join us on an initial 18-month fixed-term basis, primarily based at Silverdale. We’re a growing group and there is real potential for this to extend into a permanent role across our four clinics for the right person.

About the role

This is a hands-on nursing position across a mixed caseload. Day to day you’ll be involved in:

  • Anaesthetic monitoring and surgical nursing
  • Patient admissions, discharges and inpatient care
  • Nurse consults, triage and client education
  • Sample collection and diagnostic work
  • Medication administration and treatment plans
  • Keeping consult rooms, equipment and kennels up to standard
  • Pitching in across the team wherever needed

You’ll work 8-hour shifts Monday–Friday (7:30am–6pm window) plus Saturdays on a rotating roster of approximately 1 in 4.

About you

  • We’re looking for someone who:
  • Has at least 2 years of veterinary nursing experience (or is a newer graduate with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn)
  • Communicates warmly with clients and colleagues
  • Is reliable, organised and calm under pressure
  • Genuinely enjoys the work — the hard parts included

What we offer

  • Competitive pay based on your experience
  • Annual CPD allowance
  • Paid birthday leave
  • Substantial staff discounts on veterinary care
  • Full seasonal uniforms
  • Active clinic funded social club
  • Access to our Employment Assistance Programme

We’re a busy practice but we work hard to make sure our nurses feel valued. If you want to be part of a team where your skills matter and there’s room to grow, we’d like to hear from you.

Apply with your CV and a brief cover letter — tell us a little about yourself and what you’re looking for in your next role.
