Are you an experienced Registered Nurse who is passionate about developing the next generation of nurses? Do you thrive on building relationships, influencing change, and making a difference at a system level?

We’re looking for an exceptional Supported First Year of Practice (SFYP) Coordinator (Registered Nurse) to lead the coordination and oversight of the Supported First Year of Practice (SFYP) programme across primary and community care settings in the Central Region | Te Ikaroa.

In this exciting regional role, you’ll work with healthcare providers, educators, and clinical leaders to create high-quality transition-to-practice experiences for graduate nurses. You’ll help strengthen clinical learning environments, build preceptor capability, and support a sustainable nursing workforce for the future.

This position can be based anywhere within our Central Region, including Wellington, Wairarapa, Hawke’s Bay, Palmerston North, and Whanganui.

Flexible working arrangements are available. 

What you’ll bring

• New Zealand Registered Nurse with a current APC.
• Minimum of 5 years’ clinical nursing experience, with a strong foundation, preferably in general practice
• Experience across primary, community, or integrated care settings is highly regarded.
• Experience in clinical mentoring, preceptorship, or teaching is advantageous.
• Experience in programme coordination, workforce development, or service improvement is desirable.
