About the Opportunity

If you’re an experienced photo-simulation specialist who enjoys creating technically accurate, high-quality visualisations, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re looking for a Photo-Simulation Specialist to join our Christchurch production team, creating realistic photo-simulations and ground level 3D animations that help our clients communicate complex projects with clarity and confidence.

About the Role

This is a hands-on role where you’ll work across the full production process, from interpreting technical information through to delivering polished visual outputs.

You will:

  • Create detailed 3D models of infrastructure, buildings, equipment and surrounding environments.
  • Create 3D environments and detailed vegetation for 3D ground view animations.
  • Interpret CAD drawings, survey information, GIS data and reference photography.
  • Match cameras, lighting and environmental conditions to existing photography.
  • Produce realistic photo-simulations using Redshift and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Create and render ground level 3D animations.
  • Carry out post-production work using Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • Ensure every deliverable meets Truescape’s high standards for technical accuracy, realism and quality.
  • Contribute ideas that improve workflows, quality and visualisation standards across the team.

About You

You’re someone who enjoys combining technical thinking with creativity. You have a keen eye for detail and take pride in producing work that is both visually impressive and technically accurate.

You enjoy solving complex visual challenges, can interpret technical information with confidence, and are comfortable managing your own workload while collaborating closely with others. Most importantly, you care about quality and enjoy producing work that exceeds client expectations.

You’re also curious about emerging technologies and open to using AI tools to improve the way you work and deliver better outcomes.

You’ll bring:

  • At least three years’ professional experience producing photo-simulations using 3ds Max, Maya or a similar 3D package.
  • Experience creating complete visualisations from supplied technical information through to final delivery.
  • Working knowledge of Forest Pack and Rail Clone plugins.
  • Strong camera matching and perspective matching skills.
  • Excellent understanding of lighting, materials, reflections, shadows and atmospheric effects.
  • Experience interpreting technical drawings, CAD files and project information.
  • Advanced Adobe Photoshop skills.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • Working knowledge of Global Mapper or general GIS experience.
  • Strong organisation and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • A collaborative approach and excellent attention to detail.
  • A qualification in Media, Animation, Graphic Design, Digital Visualisation or a related discipline would be an advantage.
