About the Opportunity

Truescape is looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure & Solutions Engineer to design, implement, and continuously improve the technology environment that supports our people and our business.

This is a broad, hands-on role for someone who enjoys getting things done. You’ll work across cloud infrastructure, networks, identity, endpoints, business applications, security, and emerging technologies – taking solutions from an identified need through to design, implementation, and operational use.

Reporting to the Head of Digital & Technology, you’ll work closely with our Digital and Development teams, as well as stakeholders across the business. You’ll help shape technology decisions, implement solutions effectively, and ensure our environment remains reliable, secure, scalable, and aligned with business needs.

Security and AI are important parts of our technology strategy, but this is not a specialist cybersecurity or AI role. We’re looking for a strong infrastructure and systems generalist who can apply their skills across a varied and evolving environment.

About the Role

No two weeks are likely to look quite the same.

You might be implementing a new AWS service, improving identity and access controls, troubleshooting a network issue, reviewing a new SaaS platform, deploying a security improvement, integrating a new system, or helping turn an AI use case into a practical solution.

You will:

  • Design, implement, configure, and support IT infrastructure and technology solutions across Truescape.
  • Maintain and improve our AWS and Microsoft 365 environments, including cloud services, identity, access, endpoints, networking, monitoring, and security.
  • Lead technical implementation of new systems and services, from requirements and solution design through configuration, testing, deployment, documentation, and handover.
  • Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, network, cloud, endpoint, and application issues and identify practical long-term solutions.
  • Manage and improve identity and access management, including permissions, MFA, privileged access, and least-privilege controls.
  • Assess, implement, integrate, and support software, SaaS platforms, and third-party technology solutions.
  • Work with vendors and technology partners where specialist expertise or external services are required.
  • Monitor the health, performance, availability, and security of our technology environment and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support Truescape’s cybersecurity capability, including CrowdStrike, vulnerability management, security monitoring, incident response, and alignment with NIST CSF and CMMC Level 1.
  • Help evaluate and implement AI technologies where they can deliver practical business value, ensuring solutions integrate appropriately with our existing environment and governance.
  • Partner with teams across the business to understand problems, explore options, and turn requirements into practical technology solutions.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation, standards, configurations, and operating procedures.
  • Keep up to date with developments across cloud, infrastructure, security, automation, and emerging technology.

About You

You’re an experienced infrastructure or systems engineer who has worked across a broad technology environment and enjoys implementing solutions rather than specialising in only one area.

You understand how the different parts of an IT environment fit together – cloud, networks, identity, endpoints, applications, security, and users – and you’re comfortable moving between them.

Importantly, you’ve implemented technology in real-world environments. You can take an idea or business requirement, work through the technical options and risks, build and configure the solution, test it, deploy it, and make sure it works properly once it’s in use.

You’re also pragmatic. You understand that the technically perfect solution isn’t always the right business solution, and you’re comfortable working with others to find the right balance between reliability, security, usability, cost, and complexity.

You’ll bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience in IT infrastructure, systems engineering, cloud engineering, or a similar hands-on technical role.
  • Strong practical experience designing and implementing infrastructure or systems solutions in commercial environments.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure and services.
  • Experience administering and implementing Microsoft 365 technologies.
  • Good knowledge across networking, identity and access management, endpoint management, cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and security.
  • Experience implementing or integrating new applications, SaaS platforms, infrastructure, or technology services.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose issues across multiple technology layers.
  • Experience working with technology vendors and third-party providers.
  • An understanding of cybersecurity principles and how to build security into infrastructure and technology decisions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical people.
  • A practical, collaborative approach and genuine curiosity about technology.

Bonus Points If You Have Experience With:

  • AWS architecture, networking, IAM, monitoring, automation, and security services.
  • Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and Microsoft 365 security.
  • CrowdStrike or similar endpoint security platforms.
  • Infrastructure as Code, scripting, or automation.
  • Network design, VPNs, firewalls, DNS, routing, and troubleshooting.
  • Backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and infrastructure resilience.
  • NIST Cybersecurity Framework or CMMC.
  • Implementing or integrating AI technologies within an enterprise environment.
  • APIs, systems integration, or workflow automation.
  • Advanced 3D software, high-performance computing, rendering, or data-intensive environments.
  • Relevant AWS, Microsoft, networking, infrastructure, or security certifications.
