At Travvia, the people behind JUCY and Star RV, we’re looking for a Mechanic Foreman to lead
our Christchurch workshop team. You’ll play a key role in keeping our fleet adventure-ready while fostering a positive, high-performing team culture.
The Destination: Where Leadership Meets Mechanical Excellence
As our Mechanic Foreman, you’ll combine your technical expertise with strong leadership to keep our
workshop operating at its best. Working alongside a skilled team of mechanics and domestic technicians, you’ll coordinate daily workshop activities, provide technical guidance, and help ensure every vehicle is maintained to the highest standards of safety, quality, and reliability.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll be trusted to make decisions, support your team,
and work closely with Fleet and Operations to maximise vehicle availability and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Your Journey on the Road
Lead the Workshop Team
You’ll lead by example, creating a positive and collaborative workshop environment where safety,
quality, and teamwork come first. From allocating work and supporting day-to-day operations to coaching and mentoring team members, you’ll help everyone perform at their best while ensuring the workshop runs efficiently.
Keep the Fleet Adventure-Ready
You’ll carry out servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance across our fleet of campervans, motorhomes, and rental vehicles. You’ll also oversee the quality of repairs, ensure compliance with safety and roadworthy standards, and work proactively to minimise vehicle downtime.
Drive Continuous Improvement
You’ll identify recurring vehicle issues, recommend practical solutions, and support initiatives that
improve workshop efficiency, fleet reliability, and operational performance. Your ideas and leadership will help shape how we continue to improve our fleet and customer experience.
Lead by Example
Health and Safety is part of everything you do. You’ll champion safe work practices, ensure workshop
compliance, and create an environment where your team can work confidently and
safely every day.
What You’ll Bring to the Trip
You’re a trade-qualified Automotive Mechanic with proven experience leading or mentoring others in a workshop environment. You’re just as comfortable picking up the tools as you are coordinating the team, solving problems, and making decisions that keep the workshop moving..You take pride in
delivering quality workmanship, enjoy developing others, and understand that every vehicle leaving the workshop plays an important role in our customers’ travel experience.
You’ll also bring:
- A recognised Automotive Trade Qualification.
- Proven experience in a senior mechanic, lead mechanic, or foreman role.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across petrol and diesel vehicles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and coaching skills.
- A proactive approach to planning, organising, and prioritising work.
- A strong commitment to Health and Safety and continuous improvement.
- A full New Zealand Driver License.
