Description

Are you ready to shape the future of a truly data-led organisation?

At Travvia, home to JUCY & Star RV, our success hinges on the insights drawn from our operational platforms. We need a driven Data & Reporting Analyst / Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst in our Auckland head office to own our BigQuery data warehouse, empower our teams with performance insights, and champion AI usage to revolutionise how we make critical decisions.

In this role, the data structures and insights you build will directly influence how our teams make decisions every day. We are embracing the future of technology by actively integrating AI tools like Claude into our everyday business intelligence work. You will have the autonomy to build, innovate, and coach others. As an internal consultant, you will help teams find answers faster and foster a culture where trustworthy data is readily accessible.

Your Role and Roadmap

Stepping into this role means becoming the central pillar of our business intelligence capabilities. You will take ownership of how our information is structured, accessed, and visualised, transforming the way our teams interact with insights every day. To achieve this, you will balance hands-on data engineering with creative dashboard development and AI leadership across three core areas:

 Managing the Data

As the guardian of our BigQuery structures, you will maintain accuracy and security so every downstream report can be trusted. You will liaise with our Technology Team and primary ETL vendor to manage data pipelines and troubleshoot issues right at the source.

 Building the Dashboards

You will design and build intuitive Power BI dashboards that turn raw numbers into clear, actionable visuals. By partnering directly with teams across Travvia, you will ensure our reporting suite reveals value-adding insights and evolves alongside the business.

Pioneering AI Enablement

You will be our resident expert in using AI tools for BI. By inspiring, coaching and training colleagues on self-service data extraction analysis using AI, you will build data capability across the organisation while continually bringing the best new AI-assisted techniques back to the team.

What you bring to the journey

To thrive on this journey, you will have at least five years of experience in a business intelligence or similar data-facing role, with proven success designing and maintaining data structures within BigQuery or a comparable cloud platform. Your strong hands-on expertise building and troubleshooting intuitive, professional Power BI dashboards will be essential.

Beyond the traditional data skill set, you must be a confident user of AI tools such as Claude to build reporting solutions. You will translate complex technical concepts into practical guidance for non-technical stakeholders, maintain a solid grasp of data privacy regulations across Australia and New Zealand, and effectively collaborate with external service suppliers to manage delivery.

While not strictly required, previous experience in tourism, travel, or vehicle rental  industries will serve you well. A tertiary qualification in Data Science Information Systems or a related discipline is also highly regarded.

We know that a journey is only as good as the environment you travel in. Joining Travvia means becoming part of a dynamic, forward-thinking team where your expertise is valued and your commercial impact is visible.
