Description

Summary:

The Logistics Team Leader plays a crucial role in overseeing the logistics operations within our manufacturing facility in Christchurch. This position is essential for ensuring the efficient movement of materials and products, optimising supply chain processes, and leading a dedicated team to meet production targets. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall success of the organisation by enhancing operational efficiency and maintaining high standards of service delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the logistics team to ensure effective operations and timely delivery of materials and products.
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimise supply chain processes and reduce costs.
  • Coordinate with production, procurement, and sales teams to align logistics activities with business objectives.
  • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Manage inventory levels and oversee warehousing operations to maintain stock accuracy.
  • Train and mentor team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Prepare and present reports on logistics performance to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision making.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A relevant qualification in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
