Support Technician

Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Support Technician to join our IT team in Hamilton, Waikato. This permanent, full-time role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems and providing exceptional support to our users. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background and a passion for problem-solving, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our organisation.

Responsibilities:

• Provide first-line support to users, addressing hardware and software issues promptly and effectively.
• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and peripherals.
• Assist in troubleshooting network connectivity problems and ensure network security.
• Document and track support requests using the ticketing system, ensuring timely resolution.
• Conduct regular system maintenance and updates to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with other IT team members to implement new technologies and improve existing systems.
• Train users on new software and hardware, providing guidance and support as needed.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Information Technology or a related field.
• Proven experience in a technical support role or similar position.
• Strong understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech products.
• Familiarity with various operating systems, including Windows and macOS.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
