About the role
Support tangata
returning from overseas or prison with a tailored approach, focusing on
accommodation, education, training, family reconnection, and system navigation.
You’ll also play a crucial role in reconnecting them culturally, so advanced
knowledge of Tikanga and confidence in Te Ao Māori are highly beneficial.
Requirements
• Level 4
qualification in community services, education, mental health, or related
field; or a relevant degree or certificate in psychology, criminology or other relevant field.
• Pro-social
approach to motivate and encourage others.
• Commitment to
Tikanga Māori values and cultural sensitivity.
• Strong
communication, ethical boundaries, and organisational skills.
• Ability to work
independently and within a team.
• High attention to
detail and intermediate to advanced computer literacy.
• Full NZ driver
license.
Desirable
• Experience in
Reintegration Services, Corrections, or Justice Sector.
• Experience
working with diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Strong
connections with Iwi, Māori, and Pasifika communities.
