Hauora Nurse – Community Based Full-Time | Fixed Term to 30 June 2027 Te Ora Hou | In partnership with Te Tahi Youth

Are you a registered nurse passionate about improving hauora outcomes for whānau in your community? This is an opportunity to mahi within a kaupapa-driven, community-focused role supporting whānau to access the services they need.

Mō mātou | About us Te Ora Hou is a kaupapa Māori, faith-based organisation committed to the wellbeing of rangatahi, whānau, and communities. We walk alongside whānau to strengthen pathways to hauora, connection, and long-term oranga.

This role sits within a collaborative kaupapa with Te Tahi Youth, focused on improving access to community-based hauora services and achieving better outcomes for Māori, Pasifika, and wider communities.

Mō te tūnga | About the role As a Hauora Nurse, you will work across community and kura-based settings to provide accessible, culturally grounded health support. You will support whānau in navigating services, deliver holistic health assessments, and contribute to improved hauora outcomes.

This is a relationship-focused role grounded in whakawhanaungatanga, where you will build trust, strengthen connections, and work alongside other providers to ensure coordinated, wraparound support.

Ngā kawenga matua | Key responsibilities • Deliver community-based and kura-based nursing clinics • Provide holistic health assessments and support for whānau • Support whānau to navigate health and wellbeing services • Work alongside whānau to develop care plans and achieve hauora goals • Build and maintain strong relationships with community providers • Deliver culturally safe, whānau-centred care grounded in kaupapa Māori values

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | What you will bring • Registered Nurse with a current practising certificate • Minimum 2 years’ experience in community-based settings • Strong understanding of hauora and holistic wellbeing approaches • Ability to work in a whānau-centred, strengths-based way • Strong communication and whakawhanaungatanga skills • Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practice • Experience in, or willingness to engage in, Māori and Pasifika advocacy
