About the Role

As a UAS Pilot, you’ll work closely with the Flight Operations Manager and wider Flight Operations team to plan, coordinate, and execute flight test activities across a variety of fixed-wing and rotary-wing UAS platforms.

This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on flight safety, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and technical problem-solving. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring flight test objectives are achieved while supporting the continued development of SYOS Aerospace’s next-generation autonomous aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Flight Planning and Execution:
    • Plan and execute complex UAS flights according to approved flight plans and safety protocols.
    • Perform pre-flight inspections on UAS and ground control stations, ensuring all systems are operational and in good working order.
    • Operate UAS remotely, demonstrating exceptional RC piloting skills and executing precise manoeuvres.
    • Collect aerial data using various sensors and payloads, such as cameras, LiDAR, and multispectral sensors.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Analyse flight data and generate reports on flight performance and data collected.
    • Identify and document any anomalies or issues observed during flight operations.
  • Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
    • Assist in the maintenance and repair of UAS and ground control stations as needed.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with all aviation regulations and company safety policies.

You will be required to travel to various locations for flight operations.
