About the Role

We are seeking a Technical Support Engineer to play a key role in strengthening Swagelok’s technical engagement with customers. Acting as the primary technical interface between customers, the Sales Team and Engineering Services, this role balances hands-on engineering expertise with consultative customer engagement.

You will support customers across the full sales and solution lifecycle from discovery and application assessment through to post‑sales support ensuring Swagelok solutions are safe, compliant, reliable and fit for purpose.

This role is ideal for a technically capable engineer who enjoys customer visits problem solving, and collaborating closely with sales teams to deliver high‑value outcomes for customers.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement & Technical Support

  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers and the Sales Team, providing application advice and solution recommendations
  • Conduct customer site visits to review fluid‑system installations, identify risks, inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
  • Support on-site or remote product selection and system design based on pressure, flow, media, temperature and compliance requirement
  • Provide on‑site support for installation, commissioning and troubleshooting of Swagelok products and assemblies

Sales Enablement & Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales and Engineering teams to support Opportunities Qualification and develop technical scopes and proposals
  • Support solution design, BoM review and technical validation during quoting and negotiation stages
  • Participate in joint customer visits to strengthen Swagelok’s value proposition through technical & engineering credibility
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and site findings in CRM

Continuous Improvement & Business Development

  • Provide field feedback on customer trends, competitor activity and emerging technologies
  • Support internal technical knowledge sharing and training
  • Participate in customer events, seminars and marketing initiatives promoting Swagelok Engineering Services

What We’re Looking For

  • A Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Process Engineering, or equivalent technical experience
  • At least 1 to 2 year’ experience in technical sales, application engineering or field service
  • Basic understanding of fluid‑system components (valves, regulators, fittings, tubing, instrumentation)
  • Excellent communication, presentation and relationship‑building skills
  • The ability to translate customer challenges into practical technical and commercial solutions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/digital workflow tools
  • Willingness and ability to travel interstate and overseas as required

Desirable:

  • Experience in fluid systems design, assembly or maintenance
  • Exposure to bespoke solutions, assemblies or system integration
  • Swagelok product or installation certifications
