Description

We are currently looking for a proactive Maintenance person to join our team and help us keep our hotel running at its best.This role offers the flexibility to be part time and would suit a semi retired tradey who wants to keep busy, but not too busy!

About the Role

This is a dynamic, “hands-on” position. You won’t be confined to an office; you will be active across the property, overseeing facilities, and ensuring the hotel grounds and building are always presented to the highest standard.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic Maintenance: Developing and executing a thorough maintenance schedule to keep all aspects of the business operating at peak performance.
  • Property Upkeep: Managing general maintenance tasks, including painting, varnishing, fixtures, fittings, and grounds work.
  • Contractor Coordination: Engaging with local contractors, building strong relationships, and overseeing their work on-site.
  • Leadership: Supervising and mentoring a small maintenance team to ensure high-quality standards.
  • Operational Planning: Attending weekly operations meetings to report on progress, share feedback, and identify opportunities for efficiency and improvements.
  • Sustainability: Championing our shared sustainability goals and helping to implement eco-friendly practices across the hotel.
  • Health & Safety: Maintaining a proactive approach to risk, ensuring full compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act.

About You

You are a reliable, self-motivated problem solver who takes pride in maintaining a property. You enjoy a mix of strategic planning and manual work, and you communicate effectively with both staff and guests.

Ideally, you bring:

  • Strong experience in facilities or property maintenance.
  • A “can-do” attitude – you are happy to jump in and get the job done.
  • A proactive, risk-aware mindset.
  • Tech-savviness, with the ability to use computers for scheduling and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional, friendly manner.
  • High levels of organization and the ability to work independently.
