About the Role
As an experienced ETS Consultant, your expertise will be pivotal in supporting the establishment, compliance, and expansion of forest carbon projects. You’ll be instrumental in guiding our clients with forest and agricultural models; ensuring a balanced and sustainable approach to land, whilst maximising the benefits of registering in the ETS.
We are open to where the role is based. This could be from one of our offices or remotely, with semi-regular travel required for remote-based employees to spend time with the team in person. This role will also provide technical support and advisory to our full forest management suite of works and clients nationwide.
What you’ll be doing
- Meeting with our forest owners and ETS clients
- Assisting clients with the full range of standard ETS management and support services, such as emissions returns, ETS registrations, Add CAA applications, transfers, and trim applications
- Compiling eligibility assessments and reports, modelling carbon accruals and cashflows
- Assisting with property due diligence and forest valuations
What we’re looking for
- Excellent GIS software skills (QGIS, ArcMap, or ArcPro)
- At least five years of work experience within a forest management company, forest consultancy, or relevant government department
- At least three years of ETS management experience
- Excellent Excel skills and proficiency with Word
- Strong self-starter with a commercial acumen
- Enjoys being client facing
- Excellent written and verbal communication with proven client relationship management
- Ability to work to deadlines
- A forestry tertiary degree (or similar), or equivalent knowledge
- A strong team player with a ‘can-do’ attitude, sound problem-solving skills and attention to detail
