Description

At Squirrel, our purpose is simple: to make finance fairer.

We challenge the way banks have always done things, and that same spirit runs through how we work. We’re proudly Kiwi, straight talking, and genuinely generous with our knowledge.

Our strengths are our people: deep property and lending expertise, an innovative mindset, and a commitment to treating every client as an individual, coming up with individualised solutions to help them achieve their goals. If you want to be part of a team that’s bringing a fresh approach to lending in New Zealand, you’ll fit right in.

We’re looking for a highly organised and outcome-focused Credit Support Specialist to join our Credit Team.

If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, have a keen eye for detail, and thrive on keeping complex processes moving smoothly, we’d love to hear from you. This is an excellent opportunity to build your career in credit, lending and financial services while learning from an experienced team.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll support the lending process from application through to settlement, working closely with Advisers, Credit Managers, Client Operations teams and external stakeholders.

Your days will include:

  • Reviewing credit applications and supporting documentation
  • Conducting preliminary assessments against lending guidelines and credit policy
  • Liaising with advisers and clients to obtain information required for assessment
  • Assisting with lending documentation and administration
  • Managing loan discharges and progress payments
  • Coordinating with solicitors and stakeholders to facilitate settlements and drawdowns
  • Monitoring loan conditions and supporting portfolio administration
  • Assisting with compliance, audit and arrears management activities

About you

You’ll enjoy solving problems, working collaboratively, and delivering exceptional service while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Ideally you’ll have:

  • Strong administration, coordination and organisational skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confidence working across multiple systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • A proactive mindset and commitment to continuous improvement

Experience in banking, lending, mortgage advisory, credit administration or financial services would be advantageous, but we’re equally interested in people with strong transferable skills, a positive attitude, and a desire to build a career in the industry.

Why Squirrel?

We’re not your typical financial services company. We’re ambitious, down-to-earth and genuinely enjoy what we do.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Modern Sale Street office in the heart of Auckland
  • Supportive team, regular social events and a great culture
  • Career development opportunities within a growing business
  • Work alongside highly experienced lending professionals
  • 4% employer KiwiSaver, annual incentive scheme, employee share scheme and other great benefits
  • Flexible working arrangements by agreement
  • A business that encourages innovation and challenging the status quo

Ready to apply?

If you’re looking for a role where you can develop your lending and credit expertise, make a genuine impact, and work alongside a great team, we’d love to hear from you.
