Description

Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity? Look no further. Smart Environmental Ltd is looking for a Kiosk Operator and Yard Person at our Motueka site.

Smart Environmental Ltd works on behalf of local councils, businesses, and communities providing rubbish and recycling collections. Acquired by Blue Planet and with a large fleet of collection vehicles and line haul operations, our mission is to divert waste from landfill.

About the role

In this position, you will be the first point of contact for our customers on the weighbridge. You’ll welcome customers, manage payments and help keep the site running efficiently. As we are a small close-knit team, everyone pitches in to support each other. From time to time, you’ll lend a hand with a variety of tasks across the site, which may include assisting in the yard, operating a forklift, or completing the occasional bank run.

The days and hours for this permanent part time position are Saturday (9.00am – 4.00pm) and Sunday (11.00am – 4.00pm). Flexibility and willingness to work additional days is key.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Communicating with customers and the public
  • Processing eftpos transactions
  • Using POS computer systems
  • Weighing vehicles and reading of scales
  • Identifying different types  of recycling products
  • Strong awareness of Health and Safety

About you

  • Drivers license (class 1)
  • Forklift license would be advantageous
  • Sound computer skills with good judgement and initiative
  • Experience with cash handling and processing of eftpos transactions
  • Great customer service
  • Solid problem solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
