Make a real impact with a growing fintech business
FundTap is a fast-growing fintech business helping small businesses across New Zealand and Australia access flexible invoice finance.
From our Nelson headquarters, we’re building smarter, faster ways for businesses to access funding when they need it.
We’re looking for a Client Onboarding & Sales Support Administrator to join our team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, likes keeping things moving and is confident following up with customers to get applications across the line. You’ll play an important part in turning enquiries and applications into active FundTap customers.
Important location requirement
This role is based in Nelson, New Zealand.
You will need to be able to work in our Nelson office, particularly at the start of the role for training and onboarding. Once established, there will be some opportunity to work from home.
We are only considering applicants who are currently based in Nelson or are able to work in Nelson on an ongoing basis.
The role
You’ll work closely with our sales, onboarding, credit and compliance teams to help new clients move smoothly from initial enquiry through to approval and funding.
A big part of the role is communicating with prospective and new customers, gathering the information we need, following up outstanding requirements and making sure applications keep moving.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Speaking with new and prospective customers by phone and email
- Helping customers understand FundTap and guiding them through our application and onboarding process
- Following up new leads and applications to keep them progressing
- Gathering financial information, identification and supporting documentation from customers
- Reviewing applications to make sure the required information has been provided
- Coordinating with our credit and compliance teams to progress applications
- Helping approved customers complete their setup and move towards their first funding
- Supporting the sales team with customer follow-ups and administration
- Keeping customer records, notes and CRM information accurate and up to date
- Identifying applications that have stalled and proactively getting in touch with customers
- Providing general customer and account support when required
- Looking for ways to make our onboarding process faster, simpler and easier for customers
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who is confident communicating with customers and comfortable taking ownership of getting things done.
You don’t need previous finance experience, but you do need to be comfortable picking up the phone, following people up and working through detailed processes.
You’ll likely bring:
- At least 2 years’ experience in customer service, sales support, administration, account management or a similar role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence speaking with customers over the phone
- A proactive approach to following up and progressing work
- Strong organisation and attention to detail
- Confidence using systems, CRMs and technology
- Good judgement and problem-solving ability
- The ability to manage multiple applications and priorities at once
- A positive, practical and team-focused attitude
- An interest in learning about small business finance and fintech
- A willingness to contribute ideas and improve the way we work
Experience in financial services, lending, banking, insurance, property, professional services or another process-driven customer environment would be useful, but is not essential.
What success looks like
You’ll help make sure:
- New enquiries and applications are followed up quickly
- Customers understand exactly what they need to provide and what happens next
- Applications don’t sit waiting unnecessarily
- Outstanding documents and information are actively followed up
- Our credit and compliance teams receive complete and accurate applications
- Approved customers move through onboarding and towards their first funding as quickly and smoothly as possible
- Every customer receives a responsive and professional experience
