An opportunity has arisen for a National Program Support Lead to join the RMHC Operations team

For over three decades, Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®) New Zealand has been a ‘home-away-from-home’ for Kiwi families who need somewhere to stay when their child is hospitalised.

The Ronald McDonald House® and Ronald McDonald Family Room® programmes offer free accommodation and support, taking care of the practical things in life so families can focus on what matters most – each other.

In 2025, RMHC New Zealand provided 4,264 families across New Zealand with 45,932 nights of accommodation – free of charge, saving families over 10 million dollars.

About the role

This role is 7 months Maternity Leave cover. The primary purpose of this role is to support the delivery of national programmes by providing project and programme management support and by using data and reporting to inform continuous improvement within the Operations team, enabling consistent and effective programme delivery.

  • This is a varied role that includes a broad range of activities including development and implementation of systems and processes and managing activities related to the rollout of the digital transformation plan for the Operations team. A key component of the role is leading the program health and safety forums and committees, ensuring risks are identified, managed and mitigated, and that consistent standards are applied across all sites. In addition, ensuring health and safety risk mitigation measures are implemented across programs nationally and kept up to date at all times, including compliance of health and safety training and inductions

To be effective in this role you will have the following:

  • Excellent project management skills
  • Strong customer service focus with exceptional relationship management skills
  • Comfortable and proficient in using CRM platforms
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • 4-5 years’ experience at a medium to large-sized organisation with a demonstrated track record in all aspects of administration and project management. Skills and experience in a wide variety of administrative and organisational support
