Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Junior Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team in Auckland. This role is essential in supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in delivering high-quality dishes and maintaining the kitchen’s operational standards. As a Junior Sous Chef, you will have the opportunity to develop your culinary skills in a vibrant hospitality environment, contributing to our commitment to exceptional dining experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the preparation and presentation of dishes
  • Ensure that all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and hygiene
  • Supervise and train junior kitchen staff, providing guidance and support
  • Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients
  • Monitor stock levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and workstations
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and ensure compliance within the kitchen

Qualifications:

  • Culinary qualification or relevant experience in a professional kitchen
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
