 Te tūranga | The role

We are excited to invite a dedicated Whānau Ora Navigator (Kaiārahi) to join our passionate team, where our mahi focuses on empowering whānau to shape their own futures by supporting their growth, development, and overall wellbeing in ways that matter most to them. If you thrive on meaningful connections and making a genuine difference in people’s lives, this role offers a uniquely rewarding opportunity.

As a Kaiārahi, you will work alongside whānau to co-design and implement personalised plans that reflect and address their educational, social, health, cultural, and economic aspirations, guiding them toward self-determination while supporting them to navigate and integrate social and health services, strengthen outcomes, and move toward greater independence and life satisfaction.

 You will:

  • Work alongside whānau to develop tailored, whānau-centred plans to achieve their goals.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and mentoring to empower whānau through their journey.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse network of service providers, tutors, employers, whānau, and iwi.
  • Assess whānau needs regularly and adapt plans with thoughtful evaluations and reviews.
  • Utilise your regional knowledge of South Waikato service providers to maximise support for whānau.

 We are looking for:

  • Proven experience in coaching, mentoring, and relationship building.
  • Established networks within the South Waikato region.
  • Strong ability to assess needs and develop aspirational, achievable plans with whānau.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage with a wide range of whānau.
  • Valid full Class 1 driver’s licence and willingness to undergo Police vetting.

 What We Offer:

  • Opportunities for ongoing development and training tailored to your growth.
  • Guaranteed Christmas holidays each year due to a company close-down.
  • Monday to Friday business hours supporting a healthy work-life balance.
  • A vibrant, dynamic team environment with a friendly culture.
  • Organisation-wide fun events celebrating staff contributions throughout the year.
  • Health insurance coverage for all eligible employees.

How to Apply

If you’re passionate about supporting whānau to thrive and ready to bring your skills and heart to this meaningful role, we warmly encourage you to apply. Please ensure you have a valid Class 1 driver’s licence and are comfortable with police vetting as part of the process. Join us in making a positive impact on whānau wellbeing in South Waikato—we look forward to hearing from you.
